The Night Raid at Khaybar
After the killing of Ka’b ibn al-Ashraf, the Sahaba identified Ibn Abi al-Huqayq of Khaybar as the next-most hostile enemy. The Prophet ﷺ sent five men of Banu Salima of the Khazraj, with Abdullah ibn Atik as their Amir and the order to harm no women or children. They climbed a fibre rope into his upper room, gained entry by claiming to be Arabs seeking grain, and struck him down on his bed. 1 Hayatus Sahaba · Vol 1 · pp. 383 — Kandhlawi — Abdullah ibn Atik leads five men against Ibn Abi al-Huqayq of Khaybar.
A Leg Restored
Climbing back down in the dark, Abdullah — poor of sight — broke his shin in a fall. He bound it with his turban and walked on. In Madinah the Prophet ﷺ asked to see their swords, identified the killing-sword by the food still on it, and passed his hand over the leg, “and it was as though nothing had ever been wrong with it.” Receiving them at the pulpit he greeted them with: “The faces of success!” 2 Hayatus Sahaba · Vol 1 · pp. 383–385 — Kandhlawi — Abdullah ibn Atik breaks his leg; the Prophet passes his hand over it and it is healed; 'the faces of success!'
