The Hillock at Uhud
At Uhud, the Prophet ﷺ placed Abdullah ibn Jubayr in command of fifty archers on the hillock behind the Muslim lines and said:
1 Seerat-e-Mustafa · Vol 2 · pp. 47 — Idris Kandhlawi — the Prophet ﷺ appoints Abdullah ibn Jubayr commander of the 50 archers and orders them to hold the position.“Stay at your post. Whether you see us victorious or you see the birds picking at our corpses — do not leave this position.”
The Faithful Ten
When the Muslim charge swept the Quraysh from the field, most of the archers left their post for the spoils. Abdullah remained — and only ten stayed with him.
