The Killing of al-Aswad

When the false prophet al-Aswad al-Ansi seized much of Yemen, Fayruz ad-Daylami — a Persian Muslim of the abna in Yemen — entered his house and killed him. In Madinah, that very night, the Prophet ﷺ announced to the Companions: “Aswad the great liar has been killed last night. It was the pious servant Fayruz ad-Daylami who killed him.” 1 Hayatus Sahaba · Vol 2 · pp. 138 — Kandhlawi — the Prophet announces in Madinah that Fayruz, the pious servant, has killed al-Aswad al-Ansi the same night. 2 History of Islam · Vol 1 · pp. 242 — Najeebabadi — al-Aswad the false prophet killed by Fayruz in the Prophet's lifetime.

Honour Before Umar

Years later Umar summoned him from Yemen; at the door a Qurayshi youth jostled him and Fayruz, of long memory, struck him on the nose. Umar called him for qisas; Fayruz knelt to receive it — and Umar then recited to all present the Prophet’s ﷺ word about him. The youth forgave him, and Fayruz, in gratitude, gave him his sword, his horse, and thirty thousand of his wealth. 3 Hayatus Sahaba · Vol 2 · pp. 138–139 — Kandhlawi — Umar honours Fayruz with the Prophet's words; he gifts the offended youth his sword, horse, and wealth.
