A String to the Door
When Haritha lost his eyesight in later life, he tied a string from his musalla to his door — so that when a beggar came he could follow the string and hand the alms himself into the beggar’s hand, citing a hadith of the Prophet ﷺ. 1 Hayatus Sahaba · Vol 2 · pp. 204–205 — Kandhlawi — Haritha ibn al-Nu'man's string from musalla to door; he gives alms by his own hand.
The Prophet ﷺ said he had seen Haritha in Jannah. 2 Hayatus Sahaba · Vol 2 · pp. 204–205 — Kandhlawi — the Prophet ﷺ sees Haritha ibn al-Nu'man in Jannah.
