The Recitation that Moved His Heart

Jubayr ibn Mut’im was a Qurayshi of Banu Nawfal, later renowned as a genealogist who had learned the science from Abu Bakr. He came to Madinah after Badr concerning the captives, and there he heard the Prophet ﷺ recite Surah at-Tur in the Maghrib prayer — and when the verses on creation and the Hour reached him, he said his heart was about to fly; it was the beginning of faith taking root in him.
