Securing His Father’s Amnesty
At the conquest of Makkah, his father Suhayl ibn Amr رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُHazrat Suhayl ibn Amrرَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُOrator of the Quraysh; Hudaybiyya negotiator who became a devoted Muslim locked himself in his house, fearing for his life. He sent his son Abdullah to the Prophet ﷺ. “O Messenger of Allah! Will you grant amnesty to my father?” — “Certainly,” the Prophet ﷺ replied, “he has the protection of Allah. He may leave the house.” When Abdullah reported the Prophet’s ﷺ words to his father, Suhayl رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُHazrat Suhayl ibn Amrرَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُOrator of the Quraysh; Hudaybiyya negotiator who became a devoted Muslim said: “By Allah!
